Snow-pa-ka-lips? Sno-ma-ge-don?

Words that Washington D.C residents are using to describe current weather conditions. This week’s snowstorm dropped a record 32 inches. But some were determined to make the best of it. Residents north and south of doo-pont circle battled it out for hours in a snow ball fight. The doo-pont fight was 1 of many Saturday around the city. Promotion of the festivities began when blizzard warnings were initially issued. Facebook helped bring hundreds out for the fun.


And in the entertainment world, after a seven week reign at the top, A-va-tar has fallen. The film set the record of the highest grossing film of all time. Dropping down to $23.6 million, the film seconded “Dear John.” That love story grossed an estimated $32.4 million. It is now the highest-grossing Super Bowl Sunday frame.

Tragically an explosion in Middletown Connecticut has killed 14 and injured 12. The blast happened Sunday morning, 18 miles outside Hartford. Residents 20 miles away heard the 11:30am blast. The Kl-ee-n power plant was closed and under construction. About 50 workers were purging a natural gas pipeline at the time of the explosion. A search is underway. A time of conclusion is unknown.


And in political news, In an interview Saturday with Fox, Sarah Palin announced presidential possibilities for 2012. In the interview broadcast Sunday, Palin admitted that she would consider a run if the situation was right for both her family and the country. Palin was the keynote speaker at Saturday’s Tea Party convention.

Speaking of Palin and the convention, Palin didn’t miss the opportunity to bring more of her same. Asking Pres. Obama, “hows that hopey changey stuff workin out for ya?” Hmmm apparently this Alaskan wiz doesn’t know that hopey and changey aren’t words. Speaking of hopey though, if Palin is the future of the Republican party, “hopey” is something they’re going to need lots of.
